Hi,

I was wondering about the location of the data file. The widgetslist file is not being created. Are we supposed to get the data from somewhere else?

Hi

I am using a similar filter for my MVC3 application , I have written controllers which return a xml . We are using this as an Api . I had problems using WebApi with Autofac and Nhibernate hence i didnt pursue it . But now i have another problem at hand ,

My detailed post is here

I am trying to test my MVC3 Api which we build without using WebApi , We use normal MVC3 controllers to return an Xml data. Below is the code for the client . The certpath contains a abc.crt file .

// create certificate
var cert = new X509Certificate2(_settings.ApiSslCertPath);

ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback += delegate { return true; };

var request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(_settings.AppUrl + "/api/GetContractsById/" + contractId);q
request.ClientCertificates.Add(cert);
request.Method = "GET";
var response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse();

Now when this request hits the Api , I am checking if the context.Request.ClientCertificate.IsPresent but its always false.

HttpContext context = System.Web.HttpContext.Current;
if (context.Request.ClientCertificate.IsPresent)

My WebConfig has

<security>
<access sslFlags="SslNegotiateCert"/>
<authentication >
<iisClientCertificateMappingAuthentication enabled="true" oneToOneCertificateMappingsEnabled="true">

</iisClientCertificateMappingAuthentication>
</authentication>
</security>

and the IIS has ClientCertificate Settings to Accept. And the Applicationhost.config has Allow for access section.

Can you please advise if I am doing anything wrong

Regards

It works, just the only problem is it always prompts for the client certificate.
Why?

Hi Pon,

I'd have to look into exporting that data as grouped in excel, but my initial thought is that it is going to be difficult to do and most likely beyond the amount of time I have to commit to coming up with a solution.

Hi John,

I am not able to get the data from grid which is grouped in excel as group. Can you please guide me to make it work?

Thanks,

Hi John,

I am using the KendoGrid in my project, and it requires the Export functionality.

I have added all the above lines, you have posted but i am getting the error "CS1061: 'Kendo.Mvc.UI.Fluent.WidgetFactory<dynamic>' does not contain a definition for 'ExcelGrid' and no extension method 'ExcelGrid' accepting a first argument of type 'Kendo.Mvc.UI.Fluent.WidgetFactory<dynamic>' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)"

I am using the Razor Views to create the Kendo Grid. Can you please guide me, how do i use this feature in Razor Views ?

Find my razor view syntax to create my grid below. I have downloaded the source code for the export to excel @ github /telerik/kendo-examples-asp-net-mvc/zip/master

      @(Html.Kendo().ExcelGrid<LogModelForGrid>()
        .Name(ACSU.Controllers.ErrorController.strKendoGridName)
        .Columns(columns =>
        {
            columns.Bound(product => product.Column1).Width(100);
            columns.Bound(product => product.Column2).Width(100);
            columns.Bound(product => product.Column3).Width(100);
            columns.Bound(product => product.Column4).Width(600);
            columns.Bound(product => product.Column5).Width(100);
        })
        .Pageable(paging => paging.PageSizes(true).Input(true))
        .Sortable()
        .Filterable()
        .HtmlAttributes(new { style = "width:100%;height:100%" })
        .RowAction(row => row.HtmlAttributes["style"] = "width:100%;")
        .DataSource(dataSource => dataSource.Ajax()
            .Read(read => read
            .Action("GetData", "Error")
            .Data("PostData")
            .Type(HttpVerbs.Post)))
        .Excel(excel => excel.cssClass("k-grid-export-image").title("Logs").createUrl("/Home/ExportToExcel").downloadUrl("/Home/GetExcelFile")))

The version of tools am using are :

Kendo UI for ASP.NET MVC Q1 2013 SP1 (Could be able to upgrade to latest version as well)
JQuery 1.10.1
Open XML Format SDK 2.5

Thanks,
Gopi V

Thank you for this, it's very helpful! I do have an issue, when I open the excel doc it says the some of the content is unreadable and asks to repair it. the log says Repaired Records: Cell information from /xl/worksheets/sheet.xml

The data all looks fine, nothing is missing. Any idea what that might be? My grid contains dates, numerics and strings. I have a feeling it has something to do with the cell datatype but I can't seem to get it working.

Thanks!

Hi Nicck,

Yes, I can help you with that. The Kendo Extensions code has changed significantly over the past year with each release. Can you tell me what version of the Kendo Extensions you are using?

In kendoExcelGrid.js, within the exportToExcel function, change this:

ds.query({
    aggregate: that.dataSource._aggregate,
    filter: that.dataSource._filter,
    group: that.dataSource._group,
    sort: that.dataSource._sort
});

To this:

ds.query({
    aggregate: that.dataSource._aggregate,
    filter: that.dataSource._filter,
    sort: that.dataSource._sort
});

I shouldn't have set the "group" when querying the dataSource. Sorry about that.

Export is not working when we group the rows by the columns in the grid. Could you please let us know if this can be done.

Thanks

by smilyforumssmilyforums, 21 Jun 2013 01:52

Thankyou. I will try that.

Thanks

Since kendo doesn't have an Excel image, what I did in the sample application was to add an Excel-icon.png file in the images folder. In the Site.css stylesheet there is a class called "k-grid-export-image" for the export image that sets the background:url to the Excel-icon.png. In the Default.aspx page I added a reference to the Site.css.

You will need to do something similar in your application to create a class for the Excel-icon.png image.
